How can you obtain the certificate to show you have a parking space (Shako Shomei)?
The certificate to prove you have a parking space is called Shako Shoumei. It can be obtained from the local police department, but the easiest way is to ask your car dealer to handle the application on your behalf. However, you need to submit a form, signed by your landlord,stating that you have a parking space, as well as a map showing your exact parking space location, to obtain the Shako Shoumei. You can normally ask your apartment owner or the management company to obtain the necessary documents. The documents are called Hokanbasho Shiyo Shoudaku Shoumeisho and Shozaizu.
