Golden Week is a collection of four national holidays within seven days. The Four National holidays are April 29th (Showa Day), May 3rd (Constitution Memorial Day), May 4th (Greenery Day), and May 5th (Children’s Day). Depending upon when the weekends, Golden Week can become one of Japan’s busiest holiday seasons.
Some companies close down completely to give their employees a full week off, and many Japanese take the opportunity to travel domestically or abroad.
