Housekeeping services are provided regularly, and utilities are included in the rent. There are a lot of high quality serviced apartments in central Tokyo; however, it is almost impossible to find serviced apartments outside of Tokyo. Most serviced apartments are studios or 1 or 2 bedrooms, and while there are some larger 3, 4 or even 5 bedroom units their numbers are very limited.
Regarding furniture, you may have a choice to buy, lease, or bring your own from your home country. Furniture lease companies offer various high quality furniture options as well as electronic appliances, and even kitchen utensils and bed linens.
